4 Reason Why I Started Writing
I’ve been thinking more about writing and sharing ideas lately. There is one word that inevitably follows when I say I’m going to start writing more. Why? Why am I writing? I’m a designer, not a writer. Isn’t a picture worth a thousand words? Well, I actually have four reasons why I started writing.
Reason #1: Learn:
My first hope in writing this is not only to become a better writer, but also a better communicator in general. I know I'm not a great writer now, but that's why I'm putting content out there. It’s going to help me improve. And I know the only way I'm going to get better is by doing.
Reason #2: Connect:
One of the main reasons I started this blog is to connect with people. Whether it's through comments, e-mails, or social media. And by meet people, I mean actually form relationships with real humans. I'd love to be able to connect with those who share the same passion for design as I do.
Reason #3: Grow:
I’ve never been great when it comes to sharing my work. Sure I’ll curate a small sample of work for my website’s portfolio but other than that I don’t share much. By having a place to share my ideas and passions it will push me to grow as a designer and a person.
Reason #4: Inspire:
I hope to be as transparent as possible with the content I share. In an Internet age where we share everything and hold little back it still doesn’t feel like we get a true sense of who someone is. Every photo and Dribbble shot is perfectly crafted before it can be seen in the public light. My goal is to bring my readers along through my design process and hopefully give a more in depth look than just the final results.
