How each project works
I’m a creative at heart, but do things differently than most designers out there. I treat each project as a collaberative experiecnce and work with you every step of the way to create an awesome visual brand around your business.
Before we get started I’ll have you fill out a project questionnaire. The questionnaire will prompt you to share important details about you and your business and give me a better understanding of what your needs are.
Next, using the questionnaire as a guide, we’ll go over your target audience, inspiration, and other details that make your brand stand out. This ensures we're on the same page before we even start the design process.
2. BRAND RESEARCH & STRATEGY
You'd wouldn't get in the car and drive without knowing where you want to go first and the design process is the same way. Using the information collected in the questionnaire and our discussion, I’ll begin to research the direction that will best serve your project goals.
I’ll then send over a summary of the creative direction for you to review. This will cover things like goals, target audience, color, etc. Once approved, this will serve as the roadmap for the rest of your project.
One round of refinement included.
With the brand direction in hand, I’ll begin brainstorming and sketching out ideas onto paper. This is an important step, as well as the most time consuming. Once I’ve narrowed down a few concepts by hand, I translate them to the computer. This is where I decide if a concept is worth pursuing. I like to bring a few concepts to the computer, and narrow it down objectively based on your vision and goals.
4. DESIGN PRESENTATION
After the final concept is executed, I will send a presentation that walks you through the objective design decisions that were made and show you how they work to serve your project goals.
Designs will be presented to you in context so you’ll have a better sense of what your branding will look like in real life and as a part of a cohesive brand.
After I've presented the first round of designs, you'll provide feedback regarding what aspects are really working and what may need adjusting. Brand design is an iterative process and your input is important and totally necessary to guide my work. I may not get everything right on the first try. That’s not just okay; it’s part of the process.
Two rounds of refinement are included. Any additional rounds will be billed at $100/hour.
Next—depending on the package you’ve chosen—I'll use the new “system” that I’ve created for your brand and carry it over into 3-4 collateral items of your choosing. They can range from things like stationery (business cards, letterhead, thank you cards) to social media graphics and everything in between.
Note: Production costs of any printed collateral are not included in the package price.

Once we’ve completed the revisions, it’s time to wrap up loose ends and release your branding into the world. You will be billed for your remaining balance and as soon as the final payment is received, I’ll send you a Dropbox download link to access your final files. It’s time to celebrate!
NOTE: You will receive the final vector/high res deliverables ONLY after the final payment is received.
Depending on the package you’ve chosen—the next step will be to begin building your website.
It is also expected that any content related to the project (copy, images, etc.) will be sent at this time. Providing this content ahead of time makes it easier (and quicker) for me to design.
Using your new logo and brand guidelines I design one concept for the homepage and provide up to 2 rounds of revisions.
Once the concept is finalized, I design 3 more pages of your choice (product page, portfolio, blog post, contact form page, etc), which can also have up to 2 rounds of changes.
Once the design is approved, we’ll flip the switch to live and your website will be out there for the world to see.
